Installation

The preliminary exercise to deploy SAP plug-in service constitutes followings:

•  Install SAP_Pull executable
•  Configure database connection
•  Configure SAP connection information
•  Test SAP connection
•  Configure SAP function call schedule
•  Start SAP plug-in by Window Service Manager

While SAP pull-out process executes, the process information including warning, error, and others is logged in the Windows Event Viewer.

Start 'SAP_Pull' Process

To fetch the data from SAP enterprise business model, SAP plug-in executes SAP_Pull service. SAP_Pull service runs as a Windows based service and logs all the details pertaining to data pull out transactions from SAP architecture.

To start SAP-Pull service, follow steps as below:

Option1

•  From the start icon of the system, select Settings>Control Panel , the Control Panel window opens
•  In the Control Panel window, go to Administrative Tools .
•  Double click Administrative Tools icon, Administrative Tools window displays content of Administrative Tools.
•  Select and double click the Services icon, the Services window opens, thus executing Service Manager.
•  In the Services window, locate and select sap_pull service in the Extended tab in the right pane.
•  In the tool bar of Services window, locate and click the icon- (Start Service), the SAP_Pull service starts.

Option2

•  From the start icon of the system, select Run , the Run command dialog box opens.
•  In the Run command dialog box, type string: services.msc in the Open box.
•  Click OK , the Services window opens.
•  In the Services window, locate and select sap_pull service in the Extended tab in the right pane.
•  In the tool bar of Services window, locate and click the icon- (Start Service), the SAP_Pull service starts.

Note: To ensure the sap_pull service executes automatically, select sap_pull service in the Extended tab in the right pane of Services window and check the value in Startup Type box for sap_pull service. The value in Startup Type box must be ‘ Automatic'.

View 'SAP_Pull' Process Details

When sap_pull service executes, all the information with regard to sap_pull process is logged in Windows Event Viewer service, including warning, errors and others. You can view the details pertaining to sap_pull service, following steps under mentioned:

•  From the start icon of the system, select Settings>Control Panel, the Control Panel window opens
•  In the Control Panel window, go to Administrative Tools
•  Double click Administrative Tools icon, Administrative Tools window displays content of Administrative Tools
•  Select and double click the Event Viewer icon, the Event Viewer window opens
•  In the Event Viewer window, double click Application in the Event Viewer (Local) right panes, the details of all the applications running on the system are displayed
•  Locate sap_pull service under Source box, and view and then click to view the details of sap_pull service under Type box
